Our History
Alpine Supply's history is one of growth and opportunity. It had its beginnings in the year 1976. Mike Ellsworth, the founder and current Chief Executive Officer (CEO), started out as a one-man operation with what little inventory he kept in his garage.
In 1977, he upgraded to larger quarters at 3520 South 500 West, where we occupied 1500 square feet of office and warehouse space. During this period, the organization expanded its personnel to a total of five -- covering sales, office, and warehouse operations -- and purchased its first computer.
In 1980, Alpine Supply again outgrew its home and moved to 2310 South West Temple where it occupied 5000 square feet of office and warehouse space. The continued growth of the company during this period saw the number of employees grow to 18. This expansion, as you may have guessed, left little more than elbow room, so plans were made to construct a "new" building.
In October of 1984, Alpine Supply moved into its "own" building at 1925 West Parkway Boulevard in West Valley City. These new quarters afforded 10,000 square feet of warehouse space and two stories of office space, including all the amenities. Sales people then covered four states, an additional building proved necessary, and nearly 20 people were employed by Alpine Supply.
In 1999, the organization moved to its current location at 3311 West Parkway Boulevard with even more space and employees.
Since 2003 Alpine Supply has had an average increase in sales of over 21%. We have increased our employee base by 40% in order to continue providing the excellent products and service our customers have come to expect.
2007 looks to be a banner year at Alpine Supply and we look forward to servicing your needs.
Indeed, Alpine Supply's history is one of growth and opportunity, and customers like you have made it possible.
